I just defragmented and ran thorough scan in safe mode,now my settings display 16 256 high16 but I cant set 800x600. pls help tks

I assume you are not trying to change the resolution while still in safe mode.

Delete video drivers and then reinstall them this should fix the problem.(assuming you have the video drivers that came with it)

You can also try the download the latest drivers from the manufactuers website.

Gregg just before I read your reply I played
with the resolutions, what I did I dont know
but everything is back to normal.
