How do I get to set up my own server through an FTP program ? How do I do it though TELNET ? I would like to do it through telnet or whatever is fastest. What program should I use and what keywords should I look out for. Which IP address should I use from the WINIP thing ? Please help me cause I am tired of downloading 50 programs to figure out which program let's you serve.

for an FTP program, use Serve-U if you are running W95/8. IF you are running Linux use apache . Serve-U can be found on deerfield.com or go to ftpserv-u.com You could also use War-ftp.
For your IP if you are on a cable, just use that, if not, you can get one at dynip.com so your friends wont have to ask you all the time for your new IP each time you log on, but until then just use your own IP.
One thing to think of, is using Personal Web server from Microsoft, if you want to make your computer a webserver as well.
Good luck.
