I'm trying to install Windows XP on my Windows 98 computer. What happened was it was installing... about two thirds of the way in installing the devices the screen goes away and another screen somes up that is blue with white letters: "A Problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Your computer (BIOS) has reported that a componet in your system is faulty and has prevented windows from operating. You can determine which component is faulty by running the diagnostic disk or tool that came with your computer. Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x000000E0 (0x00000001, 0x80000003, 0x00008080, 0x80E71000)" I restarted my computer and it came up as Windows XP, then a screen said at the top "Restarting Setup" It went back and started installing Wiondows XP again, the same problem with the came error and error message occured again. I couldent get it back to normal Windows 98 so I could run some programs, I tried to go into Safe Mode with F8. It asked if I wanted to: A.Continue B.Stop and intall other componets C.Stop Intallation I told it to stop installation and it restared with the Windows XP ScanDisk, after that It once again said "Restarting setup" I really need to get this together if you have and info on what to do please tell me, I really need help, if you have Hotmail or AIM, please tell me and we can talk online.
