Sending MP3 file in Outlook

I have been trying to send a downloaded MP3 file over Outlook Express as background sound. It plays on my system fine when I am making the email format. Then when I hit Send, it says it could not find the file. Although, it does still play fine in Preview. I send anyway and my friends don't get the sound. (sent as .mp3) They forward back the email to me and it plays fine on my system with that original sound the way I wanted them to hear it. What link am I missing?

Because you are linking the MP3 to your HD and your friends do not have access to it.

If you upload it to your website or someone elses website then you could link to it there and then they would have access to it.

I send stationary files all the time with embedded music that goes along with it. These are wav or midi files. I am asking what is different about an mp3 file and why it doesn't seem to go the same.

The difference is that MP3 file has bigger capacity than wav/mid files.
One more thing, email servers has a limit on sending and recieving file attachments. Thats probably the reason why your friends can't open or play the sounds. Wav/Mid can be sent and play by the recieve, because it's capacity is very small. Try to convert your MP3 to MID.
