I'm not sure exactly where to post this since its not really OS related but I'm desprate at the moment. You see I have an SD card for a device (super card for gba heh) and it seems to only read fat16. Well recently I had to use the SD card for some backup on my pc and somehow and dont ask how cause I have no answer but some how it formated it to fat 32. Now the device wont respond saying that its not in fat16. Is there any program or method of any kind that would convert the SD card from fat32 to fat16? its only a gig of memory. I hope someone can help cause I've turned everywhere and I cant find anything.. partion magic wont even work.. it doesnt see the SD card

Well, I usually use the dos command "Format" to do the job. Try the dos command as follows:

Format E: /FS:FAT16

(replce E: with drive letter of your SD card)

I am using the Winxp version of Format, but the command should be the same. If the fat16 command doesn't work try FAT.

Oh and be sure to backup anything on the sd card before formatting.

I don't know of any programs that can convert fat32 to fat16 without wiping the date, however, it would be easier just to copy everything from the sd card to harddrive, then format it back to fat16 then copy the backup data back to the SD card.

If your card reader cannot read from the SD card that is now a FAT232, you cannot copy anything form that card (meaning, no backup). Take your card to another card reader (a friend's for example) and backup your stuff. Then format it as FAT16 and copy the data back on.
