Hello everyone, I have purchased a new pc. Both running on win98 2nd ed. and the "old" one has a 4.3 gb scsi hd. The new computer has an 20,5 gb ide hd. Can I put the scsi hd to "slave" and put it into the new computer? And can I just copy all the files from the old hd to the new hd or is that not very smart to do ?

No way jose. It requires an entirely different interface (that is scsi to IDE.) There isn't a slave jumper setting on your scsi drive because unlike an IDE controller with just 2 (master/slave) you can have up to 18 devices on a scsi controller. The jumpers would be for terminating (meaning to tell the controller which device is the "last" one on the chain.)

with scsi there is no slave but if the scsi attaches to a removable card .just put it and the drive in the new computer .First just put your scsi in the new computer ,it should just work ,but you may have to go into the bios to make sure it boots from the ide drive not the scsi . just dont copy the windows folder ,it will mess up the existing installation
