I found the problem. It doesn't work because "underwater.scr" file is for "Microsoft Plus! for Kids Screen Saver". I am using plane MS windows 98. So could anyone tell me were to get the version that works under win98? Please!

You might also need the file:
underwater.dll

This site lists a utility to use instead of MSPlus

Besides the file underwater.dll, you might try strapping on a pair of flippers and a face goggle.

Try surrounding your monitor with aquatic items like seashells and try a little beach sand on your desktop.

Replace that cumbersome computerchair in for one of the beach variety loungers with a shark fin back on it for neck support.

Once you have done that, click on control panel--> display and stare directly at the monitor. Take both of your hands and place them on both cheeks with palms facing out and cross your eyes while puckering your lips. For best results you should wave your hands on your cheeks feverishly.

If the screensaver still doesn't work, you could simply find a national geographic magazine issue that features Jaques Cousteau and make good use of the windows "cut & paste" feature.

Place the picture of your choice over your monitor to give the illusion of a screensaver. A little scotch tape can be used on the top of the picture enabling it to be used when required.

To enable the screensaver simply flip the picture down over the monitor, to disable, flip the picture over the top of the monitor.

My favorite screensaver is called "off".. I find this driver executes well under Plus! except when the aquarium screensaver
has been installed over the monitor. I had to remove it because water was gushing out of my monitor all over the carpet every time I used it.

:)

I find screen savers most compelling in their intricacies and polatices. The swartisan waves of dialopitropic imogeriazation rebeeldeededly engulfing the effervescent into flowmanation. And thus the coontinpow sanderzized, grutenitely cascading forth upon the opulent remidilie of one's psyche- permeable, tarenated into enlightenment, cast forth infalfaburgaly onto the hypertrod of incidences.
Other than that, I don't care for them all that much.
And I mean that, especially the 'and' part of this sentence. And I mean that as well. Except this time I especially mean the 'that' part.

I found way better 3D underwater screensaver at www.3Dscreensaver.com it looks so real I couldn't tell if it's real fish or computer graphic. MS underwater screensaver sucks compare to this one.

John, James is right about the Aquatic Waterworlds screensaver; it is really nice. However, if you don't want to pay the $19 bucks you can still use Microsoft's underwater screensaver. If you're using Win95/98/2000 its easy. Simply download "kidplusd.exe" from http://www.fishlinkcentral.com/software/Themes/Underwater.htm and run the setup.exe file.
If you're using WindowsNT it's alittle harder. The setup program won't run under the Winnt platform so...

1) copy the "kidplusd.exe" file from the site above.
2) use Winzip to unzip "kidplusd.exe" into the c:\Winnt\system32 directory. The result will be 5 new files (setup.ini, demothm1.cab, setup.exe, setup.1st, and setup.tdf). Don't run the setup.exe file.
3) use Winzip to unzip the "demothm1.cab" file into the c:\Winnt\system32 directory.
4) Access your screensaver options by right clicking anywhere on your desktop and select properties. Then select the screensaver tab.
5) Select the "Wildlife 32" option.
6) You now have the underwater screensaver offered by Win95/98/2000 Plus on Winnt.
