Comment:

I have recently started encountering a problem where I set my screen resolution to 1024x768 but when i reboot it returns to the old settings of 800x600. This has happened ever since i installed new drivers for my nvidia riva tnt2 graphics card. I have tried to delate drivers then reinstall them but with no luck

Any ideas?

Saint

Check your refresh rate. Try LOWERING it and see if that doesn't help.

Most monitors will work OK at 60hz and you can play around with upping it from there if everything is OK.

A lot on newer monitors support 72 hz, but start at 60 and check your manual. You don't want to overclock a monitor.

On the net search for and find and download Detonator Destroyer. Only way to remove nvidia drivers. Follow the instructions as there is a sequence you have to follow.

Then try other driver versions from the nvidia website.

You're not the first. Here's what Microsoft has to say about it.
