Since the past week, my pc screen jus keeps going a shade of pink!! It goes back to normal for a short while, then flickers and then goes back to a shade of pink!!

Its as though im holding a transparent pink sheet f plastic in front of my monitor.

I dont think its your drivers, because the problem appears to be on and off. If it were a driver prob, I guess it would have gone bad to one colour and stayed there rather than flucuate. Just to be sure, start into safe mode and see if it happens there too. Again, there is a possibility that even if it was okey in safe mode, it could still be a h/w issue.

if possible, change the video card and or monitor and see if the problem persists.

post back with the results.

For what it's worth it's probably losing green (leaving red & blue) which has a pink look. As per #1 several thing could cause this and I agree that hardware is most likely.

Could also be the signal connection. Try wiggling the cable and connectors while you watch the screen, a mirror can sometimes be useful if you can't see the screen when you are doing this.

Don't laugh but there is a fighting chance that an intermittent monitor fault can be diagnosed by banging the monitor. I don't mean thump the heck out of it - a sort of gentle bang all round. I used to do TV repairs and "vibration testing" (the posh name) often proved useful, daft as it might sound.

I agree with Derek. I had the same problem and discovered that if I wiggle the cable connection at the pc, it's fixed!

Thx for all your replies..i wiggled the cable and stuff b4but that didnt seem2hv an effect..

hvnt yet had a chance2 change the monitor or video card2test..but i did mess around with the display setting (Colors) and it seems to have made the prob better!

If it goes again then i'll change the monitor and c wat happens..

darn it peter....somehow the possibility of a hormones problem escaped me.

One serious point tho, if you wiggle a cable and it cures the problem this helps diagnosis but is no long term fix (unless you find the plugin insecure at either end). The permanent cure would be to replace the cable.

A similar argument applies to the monitor. Giving it a "delicate whack" might tell you that the problem is within that box but, sure as eggs, sooner or later the monitor would need to be changed (unless you were very lucky).
