Will I loose data, programs, IE shortcuts etc if I am needing to do a registry restore and my registry has NOT been backed up at anytime.

W98 automatically backs up the registry , 1st start each day . Keeps 5 days of backups .
No need to restore , unless you have a problem .

You'll have to reinstall software installed after the time of the backup being restored to, because the programs and files obviously won't be in the registry.
As far as I know, stand-alone programs and shortcuts will be OK.
