A user reported that their .PST file is corrupted. I tried the inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) and it just stops dead, and doesn't fix it.
Are there other ways of recovering a .PST. It's a big one - nearly 1 Gig, which is well under the natural 2 Gig limit.

I ran scanpst to repair my .pst files. It has fixed some of my mails but not all of them, I think it's all the files with attachments that are missing but there could be others. Does anyone know if there is another way to repair my .pst files, or if there is a way to access the missing ones???? Has anyone else had this problem???

- scanpst.exe is able to repair *.pst and
*.pab files under normal circumstancens
(sometime also *.scd scheduler)
- unencrypted personal folders are easier to
repair than encrypted ones (you cant change
this afterwards; the only time you can set
this option is when you create a new
folder)
- FAT16-Partitions are limited to 2GB of
size. if you store your personal folder
on FAT16 - the folder will crash as soon as
it reaches 2GB! there is no warning!!!
- there is a tool called "Oversized PST
Recovery Utility" (pst2gb). it will
truncate every part over 2GB (the rest is
LOST!) youll find it at micr*s*ft.
- if you delete a mail and empty the
trash can - the size of your personal
folder will remain at its old size!
to "empty" deleted mails, you need to
compress the personal folder!
- if your pst-file reaches 500MB -
leave it as it is and create a new one...
