Assuming colors display properly for icons and other color graphics it could be your scanner bulb is failing.

Yeah, Lee is right. I had to replace a scanner of my own. Fortunately, scanner prices have dropped tremendously... well, like how everything else in the PC industry has.

I am glad your problem was easy to solve. I bought a new IBM Color Flatbed Scanner and didn't open for a couple of month because I was going to give my old MUSTEk Scanner to my daughter when she left for college. Well I open it and I get a dot matrix looking picture on mind. I call to exchange for another one. Too late. So I have been trying to figure this one out for 4 months now and I have concluded that my PC is large enough. I have a 233MHZ and need 400MHZ or better. What a rip off. They should have printed that info on the face of the box. Loretta

I've recently installed Windows ME on a m/c based on AMD Duron cpu , 128Mb ram and it's been fine. Now I've installed an IBM Ideascan scanner, which worked perfectly on a previous m/c based on AMD K6-500 under Windows 98SE and I'm getting broken images. These look like the 'magic square' games where you have to shuffle parts of an image around to get it back to it's original appearance. Also some of the blocks are colour shifted to green and some to magenta.
Occasionally I get a correct scan.
Any advice gratefully received!

Dave
