scandisk is stuffing up my computer

whenever i try running scandisk, it gives me a bunch of error messages, then it freezes my computer, i need to run scandisk to fix errors on my pc or else it'll just deteriorate till it dies on me, so basically, can somone tell me if its possible to reinstall scandisk? if so thanks

hi,
sometimes in normal window mode, scandisk might give u error due to programs that r executing at the background.
try do scandisk in safe mode. reboot system. hold down F8 key. this usually will bring u to a screen where u can choose SAFE MODE.

I doubt if the problem is scandisk. If you are constantly getting errors, it could be a hard drive or RAM problem. You can try booting from a win98 startup floppy and run scandisk from the floppy.

well i ran scandisk from safe mode and it came back with no errors :\ , i still get a couple problems, like IE not working properly, but im beginning to think its my isp. thanks for the advice anyways
