I seem to have suffered a major Windows 98 crash. When I boot into windows, even in safe mode, scandisk will run for a little while & then the system locks up. I can't seem to get anywhere with this. Is there a better tool to help with any possible hard drive problems?
Boot into Dos mode either on the hard drive or froma floppy and run scandisk.

most likely the drive is about dead. i would suggest that if you can get to dos to backup any important files you may have before trying to run a scandisk. write back if you need help w/ dos commands
