scandisk doesn't work/win95 install

First I tried to install SuSE Linux on my old laptop, but it didn't work. The laptop just told me that it couldn't find an operating system. So I tried to install Windows 95 again. Boot Disk works -> Can find drivers for cdrom-drive -> setup starts, but when scan disk wants to start, I can just see the blue sceen and it stops at the second task (should be something like tables that tell you what belongs together - it's the german version, so I can't tell exactly). stops at 0 % and I don't know what to do!
