Has anyone circumlocuted this new problem on my computer about file error found: "ScanDisk was unable to finish correcting this error because the top-level folder on this drive is full. Quit ScanDisk, delete some files from that folder, and then restart ScanDisk." - i can't see a problem when viewing with MS Explorer.

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=149432 Don't delete any files but rather unmark the box to correct errors automatically when using scandisk.Run the scandisk program and when you get a message that the error is found, agree to correct it on a one by one basis and continue running scandisk.Good luck.

AFAIK, the root directory of a FAT32 (C:\) drive can hold a maximum of 512 entries. This may be what you're bumping up against. It might be worth checking the # of entries by going into Windows Explorer and right-clicking your C: drive to get the properties.
