Sorry this is the only thing I could find in regards to your problem, and sounds related to a Sony system. Suggest you go to support for your unit to get more information. Per Microsoft it deals with third party software, to which they lost me as no software was mentioned. I also found out on subsequent reboots of system sometimes the problem is solved, go figure.

SBS.DRV can not load because VSBS.386 is not available. Check your SYSTEM.INI windows configuration file."
Sony has confirmed the symptom. This is not a malfunction. Click "OK" and proceed the operation without taking any action.

> The necessary settings for Normal startup are written in SYSTEM.INI. Since SYSTEM.INI is also used for Safe mode, this

symptom may occur.

> In Safe mode, only the essential drivers for starting Windows are executed. VSBS.386 is a virtual device driver. However, it is not needed for starting Windows. For this reason, the description in SYSTEM.INI (executing the

driver) is not executed and the message above appears.

> Do not edit SYSTEM.INI. If you do, some application cannot be started in Normal mode.

This error is related to the battery scope software.

Check the system.ini under the header [386Enh] and make sure you see these:

Device=C:\Progra~1\Batter~1\VSBS.386
Device=C:\Progra~1\Batter~1\VSMB.386
