Saving files as JPEG

I know I used to be able to do this on WIN98SE before I formatted, I could save an image from Paint as a JPEG, but now I cant, can anyone help me here? its very annoying as BMP's can be MB's in size....

dint help, can only save files as 24 Bit, 16 colour, and monocrome.!!!

Bobb1's idea works for me..i dont know what you are doing with these files but maybe you could open them in a different graphics program and then use the "save as" feature to convert

Heeeelp, I dont have office 2000 and I tryed those things that were there and still dint work, I tryed opening a jpg in paint and it could not recongnise the file format althought I can open them without it....many thanks
