Does anyone know how to save an entire realone file that is intended to be streamed? When I use right click 'save as' a link to the file is saved but not the entire file. The same happens when I use 'view source' and enter the file url into getright. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If it is an audio stream, you can record it while it's playing using a recording program and save it as a .wav file. If it's a video file, I'm sure you can do something similar, but I don't know what programs are out there for such an operation.

I did this once with Cool Edit, or it may have been another program. I can't remember for sure because I downloaded several from download.com before I found one that would do it....

Hi, Sarah.
You can download the website to your PC, virus check the folder it will be stored in, then search it for file types (.ram .rm .mpeg .jpg etc).
And the free program to use you ask ????
Webcopier from....
www.maximumsoft.comBet you're glad you came here !

I can only comment about sound files.
Try webcopier, but I feel pretty certain it will only allow you to download a small .rm file which is in fact just a URL to the website. This is also what arrives in Temporary Internet Files. It's only when saving is permitted that you get the full file.
I think the only way forward is to record what is playing on your computer to a .wav file. There are two ways I know, one is to download TotalRecorder (it's not free but it's good). The other way is a tad messy but I used it for years:
Connect a cable with a 3.5mm plug each end and plug it from the output of your sound card to the input. You will also need an adapter on the output so that you can still get your normal sound. You can then use a sound recorder (such as the one with your soundcard software) to record it to a .wav file. The cable & adapter are available.
Windows sound recorder only runs for 1 min so it's not much good for this. It can be extended by recording and re-recording so that you effectively have a template that runs for 60 mins (or whatever you chose). Somewhat messy but it works if you haven't got a better recorder.
