Okay here goes. "Round Two"
When ever I save something to my computer; mostly the desktop. I can't seem to get the file to show up unless I select refresh after I right-click on the desktop using that menu after closing the program I saved the file with. The files also don't appear in other folders if I choose to save them in those respective folders. At first i thought that maybe I didn't save the files. So, I would try and resave them, but I get a dialog box saying it's there. But it's just not visually there.
I tried checking this problem out with explorer open as I save a file to the dektop. They wont show up running explorer, unless I close the explorer window then re-run explorer.
Also I seem to have a problem that coincides with this problem. Which is I can't move files to other folders locoted in the main C drive. I can only make shortcuts rather than move the whole file.
In my folder options: It set on custum using the windows classic desktop, to open each folder in the same window, to only view web content in folders I set at web-view, and to double click items. Then the view is set to show all files to remember each folder's view settings and to hide icons when viewed as a web-page.
This happened recently after I changed some settings in the appearance tab in the diplay properties. I did change everything back after the problem showed fage again. But, the problem is still here

'Round two' implies a round one - it usually helps to know what has been suggested before.
But not always.
A bad cause seldom fails to betray itself

You seem to like "show as Web Page".
I'd bet you have done that for your desktop also, which hides any folders/icons sitting there. If that is the case, just right-click a blank space on your desktop, select "Active Desktop", then if "View as Web Page" has a checkmark beside it, click on it to get rid of the checkmark. This should unhide all your folders/icons on the desktop.

Man I must have forgot to put the link up. thanks, man. Terry, no I don't like the view as webpage it just gave the option of showing icons or not when it is in that mode. And I choe not to. THe problem is the icons aren't in hiding it's just the files won't show up visually for a while. The wierd thing is if I change an aspect of the appearance tab of the display properties, and hit refresh the file shows up, without having to close the program.

Well I tried a step by step change of my computer. it turns out that it's something in the folder options. Right after the restart post folder options change. The files wouldn't show up.
