SanDisk Cruzer micro

I was able to successfully use a SanDisk Cruzer micro to back up data on my hard drive on my Windows98 SE -- for exactly ONE day. Since then, the computer sees the Cruzer, but indicates that there is a driver problem. When I try to update the driver, it comes up that the driver is already successfully installed at the following location: windows\inf\ubstor.inf. But a "Find" search doesn't find that file (or even that location), and the device manager profile shows two drivers at a Windows\System\ location and a different filename (one ending .pdr). I have tried removing the device and reinstalling it, but the driver problem remains the same. (I have also downloaded & installed the 98SE driver from the SanDisk website.)

I had intractable problems with Sony microvault drivers (which had to be downloaded for windows 98se) When I posted on this site I was advised to try Kingston Data Traveller which works problem free. If all else fails, give it a try. good luck

You can try removing the drivers you have and installing generic flash drivers for Win 98. They are available here: www.technical-assistance.co.uk/kb/usbmsd98.php
