safemode is not working in win98se.

Hi I have 2 OS installed in 2 seperate partitions in 40GB HDD. Win98se and Win2k Pro. But 'Safemode or Safemode with Command prompt' was not coming in Win98se. I found that Someone had deleted the Command.com file in the root C: drive. Then I tried copying the command file from C:\Windows to root C:/. Even then safemode is not coming. Any suggestion to get to Safemode other than reinstalling. but safemode in win2k is coming properly. Plz help....

I have the same setup and the same problem. The dual boot screen says to hit F8 to enter safe mode in win 98, but it won't work. I'll be following this post to see the answer if there is one.

For Win98 hold left Ctrl key while booting to boot into safe mode.
