pc is booting up in safe mode and some of the programs will not work. Any idea why this happened and if so how do i fix it?

Safe mode is strictly for troubleshooting devil. Only the minimum drivers needed to run windows are loaded. Devices like cdrom drives, modems, printers, etc will not work.

On the ME forum, I read it's because of a graphics driver problem. Check in device manager, see if there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the graphics adapter. Or perhaps reinstall the graphics drivers.

Hi, To fix this problem go to "start" then "Settings" then "Active desktop" then "Customise my desktop" once you have the Display properties box up click on the "Settings" tab in the "colours box" choose "High Colour" and in the "screen area" slide the slider up to "More". Then select the "Apply" button then restart your computer and the problem should be fixed let me know how you go, Stu.

Kira, Tried your answer but no good. But after more research it seems that the pc has a virus so maybe your answer might have done the trick, not sure.
