I was installing an antivirus program (AntiVir)and halfway way thru the install I get this message: "This application has requested runtime terminate it" and the install just stops. I have never had this occur on other computers, just this one. Any suggestions?

You might try updating the VB runtime files.
Do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and close everything except explorer before doing the antivir installation.
Make sure you're using the correct version of antivir
