I am getting a "Runtime error 216 at 0000A430" at bootup. After I click out of the error message the computer runs but is sluggish. Any suggestions? Please email. Donald@Allen.net

Runtime errors are sometimes caused by being infected by a Trojan. Have you run a full antivirus check with updated definitions?

I agree. Check your Win.ini for this line:
Run=Msrexe.exe
If present, you have a subseven trojan.

Win.ini is only ONE place where SubSeven starts from. The later versions start from the registry.

If the error is at boot time, then it is one of your startup programs. Win98, do Start > run > MSCONFIG > Startup Tab to see them. Win95, use StartupCop
Also, check in Autoexec.bat. You can try renaming it, and rebooting and see it the error disappears.

My Compaq just developed the same problem; runtime error 216 at 0000A430. This message comes on the screen after start up just AFTER another error window: Program "ATTHOME" "performed an illegal operation and will be shut down". ATTHOME is resident in the windows/system directory and I believe it is unrelated to the Windows 98 system I have installed.
Summary: In the starting procedure of computer, I get "runtime error 6003, integer divide by 0sk" . Then the computer stops. It is not possible to enter the Safe Modus.Please help me. ...
Summary: checked out XP, didn't like it, uninstalled and restored old OS. Now when ever I rightclick the desktop this runtime error occurs. "if it don't make dollars, it don't make sence"...
