|I have a friend in Moscow Russia. And about every 2-3 years he sends me an Autocad drawing via attachment. Last one had some sort of bug in it. |
It would take everything found on hard drive and make up a duplicate copy, and thus used up near all of the remaining area on the drive. If I did a DEFRAG, I could watch it filling up all but maybe one K of space. If I did a SCANDISK (and NO defrag) it would then clear up the space. If I accessed a file and made changes, it would erase the duplicate, and I would then get that little bit of space back, until a Defrag came along, then it got filled up again.
So, stopped using DEFRAG a few months ago.
