I got a computer going again that had a bad power supply. Once another was found, it was going again.
But, for two months now, every single time I start it up or reboot, up pops the screen in blue....
"Running Windows 95 for the first time"
And then goes away. Nothing got changed that I can see. But why on and on again with this 1st time biz? Everyone who watches, says "Oh, first time for you?"
Wm..

That's usually displayed if the system.dat file--part of the registry--is replaced with system.1st--the system.dat created on the original install.
But when that's the case it should continue with the install.
This page:

indicates it's a picture file that's being called and deleting the file should fix it. Give that a try.

It took some time, but found one BMP file that resembled the start up page as per Allen's. Bleeped it out.
But, am still getting that annoying and extra stop in the boot-up cycle. Any other locations or file types to bleep out?
Wm.

Is your System Date & time changing at the same time?
Try a new CMOS Battery
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
