I have a 2gb scsi hard drive with Win 98 on it . Everything works great except when I try to install the modem driver. It detects the modem and then when I try to install the driver up comes a RunDll32 Error . What would cause this and how do I fix it so I can get on the internet ?
On my regular hard drive, it has Win 2000 Pro. with a 40gb drive . Could there be a conflict ?

Hi Sam
Sorted out a similar problem the other day.
Click Start/Run/ type in MSCONFIG & press enter
You will see a system configuration utility window appear. In there look for a tab that says STARTUP OPTION or something like that,,,once into that Startup window,,look for a stratup item which has a command line saving RUNDLL32,,,just untick it & restart your comp ...then try to install modem driver.
My guess is that the Startup Item would be NewDot Net.
Let me know how you went once done please.
Cheers:)
