Where can I find a list of command to put in the run command line? I have this 98 2nd edtion laptop that I am playing around with.

Generally a 'command' is a file with an extension of .exe or .com. These files are self-executing, meaning they don't need to be opened by another piece of software. Typing it in on the run line is the same as double clicking on the file from it's location in windows.
Non self executing files will run from the run line also if they have been associated with the software necessary to open them. For example, if .zip files are associated with winzip, then running a zip file from the run line will open winzip. This too is the same result you'd get from double clicking on the file.
So there's really no difference between running a file from the run line and double clicking on it.
If you're referring to dos commands, they will usually run from the run line too. They are located in the command folder in your windows folder. If that's the case you may want to review a dos manual for their functions.

I agree with DAVE and Ham but there are a few that I execute from the Run line because it is faster than getting to it's icon:
msconfig
sysedit
winipcfg
hwinfo /ui
dxdiag
command
winfile
regedit
sfc
msinfo32
sysmon
calc
charmap
fdisk
regsvr32 xx.dll (xx is the name of the .dll)Bryan

I use them all the time and I maintain the list within it's popup using a Serenity macro script to remove the ones I don't want to stay there versus clearing them all using Windows and then re-adding them back.
Using the keyboard I can get to "command" pretty fast using
Win, R, CO and Enter
versus just Win, R, C as it opens the Calculator.Bryan
