Hello,
I am having difficulties configuring my linksys router(Etherfast Cable/DSL Router with 4 port switch). Whenever I type in the default IP(192.168.1.1) I get 504 Gateway Timeout. I have tried reseting my router but that did not work. I installed my router 4 months ago but did not do the configuration part but now i need to because I am trying to set up games servers which won'tlet anyone join. Can someone please help me

Mike

First off. Make sure your browser isn't proxied. Start/control panel/double click internet options/click connections tab/click on LAN settings button. Untick use proxy server. Yhen ok out of that and wait 10 sec. for IE to reset and launch your browser and type in the IP addy of your router.

If that doesn't work.
Then do this. Unplug the router from your computer either at the router or at the computer itself. Then shut down your computer.
Now plug your computer back into the router with the power off. Then power up the Router. Then power up your computer. While the computer is booting up. Press and hold the reset button on your Router for thirty seconds. Then let all the blinking settle down and then open IE and type in the addy of your Router.

Does this get you in?

1) exactly what model Linksys do you have?
befsx41, befsr41, etc

2) do you have the latest firmware installed on the router? check the linksys website

That looks like the wrong address for the router.

I think it's 192.168.1.10

Notice the last zero.
