Hi,

I have an P3 1000mhz, Riva NVidia TNT2 etc, SB128-2, Chaintech motherboard, 20 GB HD with IDE, the 2 cd-roms and HD are UDMA.

My problem is that my graphic card won't work properly with 3d graphics. Every time i start a game which uses 3d acceleration, the computer crashes and i can reboot. I have updated my drivers butt by doing that the computer crashes already if i watch an .avi file and the sound is being funny. So i kept using my older drivers. I have Direct X 8.0a. I have shut down the DMA of the CDroms and HD but that didn't help. The games i tried where : MotorMaddnes 2 and MotoCross 2 and soldier of fortune. with all games the computer crashes when i choose for 3d acceleration, if i choose for software rendering by motormaddnes 2 the game plays without crashing.

I have tried a lot of things butt i can't solve my problem.
Can someone help me ?

not sure what exactly your problem is, but i would start by uninstalling your drivers if you can, then removing your card from device manager and rebooting your pc and let windows reconfig everything. im not sure if you did that already or not, but it sounds like its a configuration problem somewhere with your drivers.

when or how did this start?
or was it always the been like this?

if this is a new card
make sure the old video card software is removed in the control panel add / remove.

Hi,

I did delete the graphic card from the device manager and after a reboot i chose the graphic drivers for the card. And after a second reboot i tried to play the games with 3d acceleration but the computer crashed again on the same moments.

What can i also try to fix my problem ?

Hi
Have the same stabillity problem whith Win ME. I remove the video card and replace it by an older PCI 2Mb video card. The computer is more stable then before. Playing AVI files is nore a problem.
Have a new Athlon 1200 system.
