I compressed a hard drive to give me more space as I could not afford a new one. one day I turned on the computer and the mounted drive had gone and i was left with a drive with the file drvspace.000. The HD has developed bad sectors and drivespace won't mount the drive and scandisk would fix the problem. I need these files. Is there any other way to get them back. Help much appreciated.

Is there a way to manually mount the drive by changing files (i.e. config files or ini files) to fool the computer that the drive is mounted and so that the drive is in the same state as before with files being able to be accessed and still with bad sectors.
