Hi! I am wondering how to reconnect with PCAnywhere once I have re-started the host computer. I am the remote. When the host computer re-starts, PCAnywhere comes up but it is not in the waiting mode so I cannot reconnect. There must be a way to have PCAnywhere start up in the waiting mode but darned if I can find out how!!! Why would there be a restart host computer button if I cannot then reconnect? Please help me!!! I have trouble with the host computer freezing on occasion and then I have to sit here all day waiting for my boss to come home and restart the PCAnywere....its such a drag.
Many thanks from Heather
By the way, I am using PCAnywhere 8.02

Don't know what to tell you. I set mine up as 'Host' and has PCAnywhere startup on boot and it works fine. Make sure it's in 'Host' mode and waiting when you shut down.

Other than using the features BUILT IN to the program...on the host copy the Host startup icon in pcANYWHERE and put it in the StartUp menu.

If you look through the Host properties on the Host machine you will find an option to Start with Windows...might be easier

In the mode Be A Host PC, selection one of the connection mode, eg Direct, Modem, Network etc. The choice would be exclusive.
Highlight it, and from 'File-Properties' or right-click menu 'Properties', go to 'Settings' tab. From 'Host Startup', check the box 'Launch with Windows'. Also consider to check the boxes 'Wait for call' for 'Abnormal loss of connection' and 'End of Session, Host Options'.

Thank you all! I followed your instructions Tsuji and it works!!!! I am very grateful. I just love this forum and always get fast answers that really solve my problems. Much love and appreciation to all you helpful and kind-hearted folks.
