Run sysedit. Insert "rem" in front of lines you want to disable in autoexec.bat. Then place semi-colon in front of lines referencing Iomega in config.sys, if any. That makes is easier to go back if you change your mind.

If your not sure about permenantly removeing them just add "REM " ,no quotes, to the fromt of each line.

When you get tired of looking at all that you can put "echo off", without the quotes.
If you want to toggle specific commands display on, use "echo"

Hi RAD, hi everyone,

As far as I know, Start -Shut Down- Restart in MS-DOS mode also uses C:\Windows\Dosstart.bat

RayMan, maybe, I don't understand very well what you mean but...
>If you want to toggle specific commands
>display on, use "echo"
"echo" just displays the status.
"echo this is a message" displays the message 'this is the message'.
If you want to retrieve the display, the command is "echo on"

Have a good day,

Yeah, it's the windows\dosstart.bat file you need to edit. Autoexec.bat has no affect on the files that load when you exit to dos from windows.

If you've removed your zip drive or just don't want it working in dos, you can delete the line or rem it out by one of the methods explained above.

Frenchie, DAVEINCAPS, and RayMan - you're right on. It's that elusive Dosstart.bat file in the root of Windows.

I oftened wondered where that "iomega is now search for your drive" came from. Yowsa!

Thanks everyone that responded.
