Comment: I re-formatted my hard drive, and now as I am trying to re-install Win98SE, my computer cannot re-boot, it just goes to a blank screen, the CD drives spin and access but no hard drive or monitor activity occurs. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work either, just the blank screen. To shut down, I have to unplug my machine! Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

Reply: (edit)erm tough situation Do a re-set on your BIOS first off, make sure that you hard drives remain detected Unplug and disconnect all your hardware except for the mouse, keyboard, monitor & VGA card. If you can get in a take the rest out the better then do the install. Chances are that setup is having hardware detection problems

Reply: (edit)You may have to hold the power button for 3 to 5 seconds to get it to shut off.
