Comment:

I have a laptop that has an unlicensed copy of XP Professional on it. I like the OS, but I can't do anything with it since it is not registerd. I want to put Windows 98SE on the computer (I own the software) but I want to completely erase XP. There is nothing on the computer I really need, so is there a way to completly re-format the whole hard drive and install 98?

you can make a bootup disk from your friend win98 computer or download it from bootdisk.com. run fdisk to delete the non-dos partition, create new primary dos partition and format it to fat32. make sure you have all the drivers for your laptop.

Also, make sure you have a win98 lap top version, I’m pretty sure you know that lap-top and desk top computers have their own versions, right?
