I have Apatec Easy CD Creator 3.5c, I have been adding stuff to a CD for a while, but it now tells me to "remove the write protection" if I want to add to it. I only moved a few files around & the next time I go to use it there is suddenly write protection! The strange thing a few days ago I did manage to add a few files to it as normnal but now it is back to being write protected. I cannot find anything in the help section nor anything in web searches. I was even thinking of transfering all the files to the PC then to a new disc but I am afraid after all that it might transfer the write protection to the new one! Anyone out there got any ideas please?

From CD Creator Site:

Why can I no longer modify files that were moved from one computer to another using my CD-R/CD-RW?
When you write to a CD-R/CD-RW the file attributes are automatically set to Read Only. That Read Only attribute remains with the file(s) even after they are copied off of a CD-R/CD-RW back onto your hard drive or network drive. After copying the files from a CD-R/CD-RW to their destination right click on the file, choose Properties, and remove the Read Only designation, or use the ATTRIB command to remove the Read Only attribute.

Thanks for the ideas. They are not read only files, so that doesn't seem to be the problem, the whole disc is protected & won't let me add/modify anything. I went on the Adaptec site, the onlt upgrade is Easy CD Creator 5, but that was about $99 which is more than the actual CD writer hardware itself. As I have 3.5 is there a cheaper less advanced update around? Many thanks.
