OK, i have a Diamond Monster II card, which puts a tab in the display properties applet. I recently discovered how much better reference drivers usually are for most things and so downloaded the 3dfx V2 reference driver and installed it, also putting a tab in the display properties applet. The problem is getting rid of the Monster II tab. There is no entry in the add/remove applet and it doesn't help to remove the device in the device manager because when I reboot win98 (bless its heart) automatically finds the card and installs the monster II driver again without giving me the chance to point it elsewhere. Any, no huge dilema, I would just like to get rid of the extra tab in display properties Thanks

You can go into the Registry and follow this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\Display and select the key [folder] you don't want and delete it. But before you do highlight the 'Control Folder' key and select from the menu bar at the top 'Registry' and then 'export' and save it to file, call it Control and save it on your desktop for now. This is in case something goes wrong and if so just double click the control.reg file and the original settings will merge back. I just tested this on one of the tabs and merged it back without any hassle. Save the file to disk in case you want to put it back in the future.
