remove xp, install 98

i have a 98 disk from old computer, xp allready loaded on hard drive of new computer, must get rid of xp! need to know how to reformat and install for 98
If XP was using the FAT32 file system, just boot from a win98 floppy, format and install. If XP was using the NTFS, then download and run DelPart, delete the current partition(s), run fdisk to repartition, format and install. http://hercules.lss.ksu.edu/download/MSSTUFF/delpart.exe
What you say makes good sense, but if you analyse the question and therefor the level of understanding you may need to expand. Like where do you find what file system is used.
Browse the 98 cd from XP and copy fdisk.exe annd foramt.com to a floppy. Boot into DOS or and run A:/fdisk.exe. Delete all partitions and then partition your drive. exit fdisk and run A:/ FORMAT C / sys. reboot From the WIN 98 CD and follow instructions.
Summary: You seem to suggest this was an Upgrade attempt - not a dual-boot attempt - that failed? Presuming this is was an true Upgrade... As soon as XP began the upgrade routine it replaced/overwrote the '98 ...
