I got an unwanted icon for my hard drive on the desktop, and want to send it back to its folder. Can't send it to the Recycle Bin!! In fact, I have several icons I would like to do this to. Running 2 year-old IBM PC w/Windows 98, Internet Explorer, 64 RAM, and 6.0 hd.

Go to C:/windows/desktop and right click the unwanted icons/choose properties. Uncheck read-only and system, close, and you will be able to delete them. In a dos window, attrib -r -s c:\windows\desktop\iconname does the same thing.
