Is there anyway to remove the startup password on Ibm notepad Bios version 4.0 release 6.
I can't get to bios setup or a drive as password comes up on powering up.Is there any backup password available.I checked ibm site and it says harddrive would need to be replaced if you forget password.
Any help would be great.

unplug your puter..make sure it is unplugged..and look at your motehr board by the battery..there might be a jumper to remove for the erasure of the bios password..if there is remove it and replace it back..if there is no jumper then remove the battery with the puter still unplugged and short out the seating contacts that seat and hold the battery in..use a screwdirver or something...short it out for about 10-15 secs then replace the battery and plug ur puter back in and see if that worked

Hi!

I don't have my supervisory password. I'm using a IBM Thinkpad 770, and this is a huge problem to me. I cannot do anything.
Do anyone know how I can remove it?
Please, help me out!
Thanks in advance.
