Hi there!
I have a secondhand computer that I bought and have been using with win95 OS already installed.
The boot up files have been corrupted on the HDD so when I start the machine I'm left at the dos prompt. I'm also not able to start the computer in "safe mode"
Now.... my dilemma is this, the approach I've been trying is to re-install my copy of win95 on this computer to sort out the corrupt boot-up files but during install I can only get as far as the athenticity code as the previously installed OS has a different code.... so my code for my copy of win95 is being rejected.
Not able to obtain the original code......
can't wipe the HDD and re-install as data needed........CAN ANYBODY HELP ME !!!!

Regards Tony.

Hi,
why not to install using the code of your other computer? You can install over your corrupted copy.
