hello, I need help re-installing ATI rage fury video card drivers. After installing updated video drivers that started to lock up my system, I wanted to go back to old Drivers that worked fine. I removed new drivers(add/remove software),deleted instalation folder and display adapter(device manager). when I re-boot,windows98SE detects new hardware and starts to install drivers prompting me to reboot computer. but I want to "Run" old driver instalation file. How can i keep windows98se from searching for hardware and drivers when I boot up so I can use standard VGA drivers and run driver instalation program on my hardrive. thanks, oscar

acording to the ATI web site, I have to run the instalation file which is an .exe file to unpack the instalation file and then it runs as if it were from the cd-rom so I dont think(Go to the device Manager, select the driver > Properties > driver > Update Driver.) will help... any other Ideas..thanks

If you follow through on the devicemanager to update driver ,you will find a point where you can specify 'have Disk ' , instead of browsing to a disk point it to the ,exe file you want to use , or the expanded files if that is a self opening zip file. or just use the driver data base windows comes up with to pick a windows supplied driver for your device. ( hint, use the show all files option on the list )
