I just reformated and reinstalled win98 on my HD. I have a HP Pavilion 8650C. How can i find the correct drivers i need? video/sound/modem etc. I went to HP.com and nothing, i guess my comp is to old. also, my USB dosnt recognize my flashdisk. so i cant copy drives from another comp to it. it say's i'm missing the USB drives. help anyone
HP drivers won't matter unless the machine is still in a "factory state". If different hardware has been added you will need the drivers for that hardware.
Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (Clean FreeWare) Once it's finished loading, run a report, hardware related, HTML format. Post the information here for the hardware that you can't find drivers for.
Thanks, but the computer that has win 98 (the one giving me problems) cant connect to the internt. my modem wont connect, (cant detect either) what can i do in this case?
Probably the best bet is to get the Everest download file on some other machine, burn it to a CD-R (finalised) then install it onto your W98 via the CD drive.
Alternatively it's a matter of identifying the modem by opening the case and Googling for the drivers. Once you are online with W98 you can get Everest to determine the rest.
The Chipset and the Graphics card are the Intel 810. Go to Intel and download the Intel810 chipset & viseo drivers and install them First before you install the Model & Sound Drivers.
