Can Win 95 be re-installed over itself without messing the programs up?
I have problems with the installer so I can not add a new program. So, I was thinking about installing win 95 over the top of itslef.

It worked on win98, why would you do that anyway? If its because of a dll or kernal32 error or viras, format, and re-install

In general it works and you don't lose anything. A few minor problems can sometimes arise with specific programs but these can usually be sorted out by uninstalling and re-installing them if necessary.
My own feeling is that it's best to solve problems some other way first if possible, but not everyone agrees with this view (it can sometimes be quicker to reload Windows).

I should have added that there is not much lost by trying a Windows reload before reformatting, because that option is still available if it doesn't work out.
