I've got my hartd disc split in C: and D:. Win 98 was on C: drive. I formated C: and reinstal Win98, cause of constant freezing. After that done, I've got some programs left on D: /like Dreamweaver, etc./. These programs are still working. Is that O.K.?

You only formated the C Drive, nothing on the D Drive would be affected. Everything on the D Drive should be intact and work (you will have to recreate the shortcuts for the program menu if you want to start the programs from there).

The above post is not completly true. When you install a program, it adds registry entries and also puts dll's for that program in the Windows system directories. Some programs will run fine as standalone's but most programs need to be installed properly for them to work. If your programs seem to be working fine, then there is no problem. But remember not all programs can work that way. You may also find that initially the program seems to work but as you try different parts of the program you may get errors.

Thanks for infos. I was suspisios about registry problems and system files. Photoshop didn't work, but Macromedia products worked well. Strandge?!
Sure way to solve Win problems is to format the drive on which Win is located. It's time consuming, but it works.
