reformattting hard drive for an Acer System (Please Help!!!!)

I am working on a computer (Acer) for friend. There were no hard drive installed, I have a used but still good 540 MB, i am installing these until they wish to put in a larger one. Using the Acer Recovery CD and floppy,it the the process fine, but when you reboot to start-up. there is a error messagefor several message file. (such as .386) and now it will not let me format or fdisk the hard drive, using my 95 or 98 boot disk... it gives me the error message......Invalid MS Dos Version. from the C prompt it shows MS DOS 6_2_2

Steve, You need to boot from the boot disk to use commands from it. If you boot the hard drive, you get dos622, and it will not recognize win9x commands. Hope this helps, Al
