reformat/install Win95B(How?)

I am currently running Win95A. I'm trying to get my CD-Writer working; HPTech said I need to reformat & reinstall Windows because of existing conflicts. MY Wind95A disk won't read,but I have a Win95B disk. How do I reformat & install Win95B? Thanks for any help!!!

Hi Brett. First thing, when you do a format, you will lose evrything in your hard disk. To install without doing format, create a boot disk first. From your computer, go to start>settings>control panel. Open add/remove programs. Click on the startup tab and create boot disk. Reboot your computer and boot with the boot disk. When booting up, press 1 for enable cd-rom support. After that, insert Windows installion cd. Type "d:\setup" without quotations where in d is the drive letter of your cd-rom.

Remember also, that win 95B is 32 bit fat system

cebb, Thanks for the help, but I was told that Win95B won't install over Win95A, due to incompatibility issues. Is your method a work-around for that? Also, When I tried to make the Win95B start-up disk, I received a error message that it said it "could not properly initialize the disk; Error: disk sector was not found." Guess I'm stuck.
Dingbat, Thanks for your reminder; will it give me the option for Fat 32 or just default to it?
