I would appreciate any info, and pointers about reformatting my hard drive (I seem to have some registry bug-a-boo's). I am running a PII system, and plan on reloading win98. Does anybody know of a step-by-step process I can locate? Thanks....

HEY YO!

See the "Howtos" link to your upper left?? Yeah, the one above "Windrivers" and "Search." Well, click on that, and then click on "ADVANCED HOWTOS" and then click on "HOW TO PARTITION AND REFORMAT YOUR HARDDRIVE" Now, click on that "click here for text file" and print that whole thing out for your help.

It's pretty indepth so you shouldn't have a problem! Good luck!

p.s. It has been slightly revised but I haven't put it here yet, if ever, I still get email for it 'cause no one looks at the HOW TO's first apparently.

Ahh.. I didn't notice your name on that! I see it now though. Good job my friend. There was a time where I needed one of those pretty badly! (kinda like flip-flops)

It's people like you, Ronnie, that make this computer hell in which we live, a more pleasant place. Thanks again.

Would I follow these same instructions for windows98 or does the boot disc I made via win98 already have the necessary drivers on it ? I'd appreciate some feeback.

Mike,

Any 'Ol bootdisk will do. When I set up Win98, I used the Win95 setup disk to boot with. Nothing to it. Just test it before you do anything drastic. Make sure that your boot disk can make your CD workable and whatnot. Cause you'll want CD support.

I liked using my Win95 setup disk to kick everything off cause it had a lot of tools on it and also had all of the CDROM support as well.

I concur with Lazarus on that, although I don't have Win98 I did however score a boot disc to test on and should be no problems and use the large disc support if you have a big HD, piece of cake.

And Mike, only use Win98 Fdisk and Format to do the job, of course if that's all you have, no worries then.
