Recycle Bin

After a format of the hard drive and the re-establish of the system, there are Recycle Bin "ghost" icons that cover the other icons on the desktop. What can I do to get rid of those ghost icons and can any one shed any light as to how they got there in the first place? Thanks!

Judy, Try starting your computer in SAFE mode. This should rebuild the ShellIconCache file which should correct the problem. More info and fixes at the link below.
